Online Information from Microsoft

Here are links to some key IE5 locations on the universe-sized www.microsoft.com website. Most of these are gateways to more resources. Pages at Microsoft sites have a habit of moving around; these links were valid at the time of the IE5 launch (late March 99), but may not be forever! If all else fails, try www.microsoft.com/ie and explore from there.

Getting Ready for Internet Explorer 5
A quick descriptive overview of the new authoring features in IE5, with links to more detailed articles. Part of the SiteBuilder Network section (see below).

What's New in Internet Explorer 5
A thorough, table-based reference list with links to even more thorough descriptions.

Site Builder Workshop - DHTML, CSS and Scripting
The successor to the late, great, much lamented Internet Client SDK. Whatever it is you want to know about Internet Explorer authoring technologies, it's in here. Sadly this section is still not downloadable in bulk for offline viewing, although snapshot CDs are promised later this year.

Site Builder Network (SBN) Workshop Home
The is the real boss - the section of which the massive DHTML etc Workshop (see above) is a mere sub-section. If it comes from Microsoft and you can program it, then you'll find it here.

The Internet Explorer Home Page

The starting point for links to everything about IE5. If all else fails (or has moved), start here.
